Louisiana Information Sources: A Guide

Research tools for finding historical and current newspapers, journals, media, and information about Louisiana

Intro

Louisiana has one of the highest incarceration rates in the United States--and the world.

There are many collectives, projects, and organizations in New Orleans and across Louisiana fighting to end mass incarceration, build safer communities, and invest in community well-being. Some of these aim to reform the system, others to abolish the prison industrial complex. Below is a snapshot of work being done towards justice reform, abolition, and alternatives to policing, with an emphasis on New Orleans-based organizations.
