Audiovisual (AV) Services

A library guide detailing audiovisual services available to Tulane University Libraries and Tulane affiliates.

Captions & Transcriptions

Digital Scholarship & Initiatives staff offers in-house transcription and captioning services to increase accessibility for all video request submissions.

Our staff provides transcribing and review of your audiovisual content. We will strive to create captions with 99% accuracy as recommended by the ALA Accessibility Report. If you have a pre-scripted video request, please provide us with your script to increase accuracy of captioning.

Once we create the captions, we will publish them to YouTube and/or Digital Collections with closed captions functionality. Audiovisual content added to Digital Collections will also include a downloadable PDF text transcript.

We can only transcribe English language content. If you have non-English content we can provide guidance to you for creating your own captions and transcripts.

DSI uses Adobe Speech to Text functionality in Adobe Premiere Pro for transcript and captioning services. Completion times will vary depending on the video.
