Overview

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires grantees and contractors to make results and outputs of NIH-funded research available to the public through effective and efficient data management and data sharing practices.

The 2023 NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy applies to all contract applications for research and competing grant applications for research, including competitive renewals, submitted on or after January 25, 2023

In preparation for this policy, Tulane Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA), Information Technology, Libraries, Research Compliance, and Office of Research will provide training opportunities and town halls in December 2022 and January 2023. Details regarding these sessions will be distributed on SPA listservs and posted on this site. This will include guidance on using Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) as persistent identifiers required by the NIH policy.
