Tulane University Libraries has reached an open access transformational agreement with Wiley, a global leader in publishing, research and education. This agreement will provide Tulane University Libraries affiliates with free access to Wiley’s complete journal portfolio and enable participating researchers to publish accepted articles open access in all of Wiley and Hindawi’s more than 1,800 hybrid and gold open access journals.
The agreement took effect on January 1, 2023.
Tulane authors can explore the following page on the Wiley Author Services website, which provides information on their eligibility for open access publishing coverage under the agreement. The following are author guides that cover the process of submitting articles for open access and that would have article publishing charges waived.
The agreement does have some limits. It will allow for up to 37 Tulane author fee waivers during the first year, eventually increasing to 40 in 2026. The cap is based on the university’s publication history, however, and is proportionally in line with the library’s other open access agreements.
