A new authentication system for online resources.

What is OpenAthens?

OpenAthens is a service that acts as an intermediary between the library and vendors of information resources. In technical terms, OpenAthens is an identity and Internet Protocol (IP) - based authentication system that provides smoother access to the library's resources using your Tulane single sign-on (SSO) credentials. OpenAthens is replacing our previous system, EZproxy. It offers more reliable and consistent access and should resolve the "proxy error" access issues many users encounter. As of December 18, 2019, resources will begin to migrate to OpenAthens. To avoid broken links, please update your links.

At this time, only those seeking to access library resources from off-campus will need to use OpenAthens. In the future, OpenAthens will faciliate access to all licensed library resources on campus and off.
