Intro

Tulane holds a rich array of archives and special collections pertaining to the history of Jewish institutions and individuals across multiple repositories on campus:

The strongest and most wide-ranging holdings for Jewish history, especially Jewish New Orleans, are at TUSC.

Amistad Research Center

Amistad Research Center is an independent repository located on Tulane University's uptown campus in Tilton Hall. Amistad's mission is to collect, preserve, and provide open access to original materials that reference the social and cultural importance of America's ethnic and racial history, the African Diaspora, human relations, and civil rights. 

Amistad has at least 50 collections that pertain in some way to Jewish individuals and institutions, and/or antisemitism. Some noteworthy collections are:

Latin American Library

The Latin American Library has a few archival collections relating to Jews in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as holdings in Rare Books.

Newcomb Archives and Vorhoff Collection

The Newcomb Archives acquires, preserves, and makes accessible rare, valuable, or unique materials documenting the history of women and gender in the Gulf South. The Archives are also home to the administrative and student records of the former Newcomb College and the Nadine Robbert Vorhoff Collection, a non-circulating special collections library devoted to research on women and gender.
