Why Should I Use Imagetwin?

Imagetwin may help to detect potential image integrity issues that otherwise would be difficult to identify. It is meant to complement – not replace – existing data management practices and procedures. 

Tulane asks researchers to evaluate the product for accuracy and efficacy. The Office of Research would appreciate receiving feedback about user experiences with this software. Please send feedback to imagetwin@tulane.edu

 

How Accurate Are Imagetwin’s Results?
This is emerging technology and is expected to produce both false positive and false negative results. It is critical that researchers review Imagetwin scanning reports to determine whether the images flagged by the software need additional scrutiny by those with appropriate subject matter expertise.

 

What are the Rules for Using Imagetwin?
Imagetwin should be used in accordance with good faith principles and in accordance with Tulane’s Imagetwin Policy located here. Researchers should only scan images that are under the researcher’s purview in the normal course of the researcher’s work. 

 

What Happens to the Content Uploaded to Imagetwin?

Content uploaded to Imagetwin by users is not saved by Imagetwin. Uploaded content does not become part of Imagetwin’s comparison database. Users have the option to save reports generated by Imagetwin within the interface for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted.
