Chemistry Collection Policy

Howard-Tilton Memorial Library collections policies supporting the Department of Chemistry at Tulane

Program Description

Howard-Tilton Memorial Library collects materials that support the teaching and research programs of the university's Department of Chemistry. The department offers programs of study leading to the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. Both the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees emphasize basic research in the chemical sciences. The department has particularly active research programs in bioenvironmental chemistry and photochemistry. Many chemistry faculty are affiliated with Tulane's Center for Bioenvironmental Research. Faculty active in photochemistry have, with support from the National Science Foundation and the state of Louisiana, recently established a Center for Photoinduced Processes. The Chemistry Department at Tulane has seventeen full time faculty, approximately fifty-five graduate students, and ten postdoctoral associates.
