New Computer Setup Instructions

1. VERY IMPORTANT - Make sure you are connected to an active internet connection before signing into the laptop and you must have your Tulane email account. This could be Eduroam in a Tulane location, a WiFI connection from your home or ethernet connection.

2. Once the computer is powered on and connected to an active network connection select Next.>

3. You should then see a "Let's Set Things Up" page. Log in with your full Tulane username (username@tulane.edu) and your current password. You should have received your Tulane email address from your manager with instructions on changing your initial password. If you have not, please contact your hiring manager for those details.

4. Once logged in, follow the on-screen prompts for the set up. You will see a series of steps labeled 1, 2, and 3 begin to process. Let those steps continue (Don’t hit Continue Anyway). The computer may restart a few times. If prompted again to sign in, enter your Tulane credentials once more to continue the process.

5. Once all the steps are completed, you will be taken to the Windows Desktop.

6. At this point, a basic suite of program files will continue to load in the background while you remain connected to the internet. You can still use the computer, but it will take some time to completely load all applicable software. The Microsoft Company Portal should also be available to download other needed software applications. Simply search for "Company Portal" and install other apps as needed.

7. The device will also begin the encryption process in the background. Do not turn off or alter the Bit locker encryption that is activated.

8. As the first log in user, you are now set as the Administrator and should have rights to install other software as needed.
