1885. Sixty original albumen photographs of Panama that document work on the canal by the French company under Ferdinand de Lesseps and show architecture and life in Panama. Dedication by P.M. del Valle to Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada of Mexico. 30 pages/oversized.

1907-1909. Photographs of Canal Zone, Panama City, and of construction on the Panama Canal, some of which are commercial photos by W.A. Fishbaugh. Also included are larger photos of Havana, Cuba. 103 pieces.

1904-1907. Photoprints of views of Panama showing the Panama Canal and its construction, Panama City and other towns, government officials, social settings, colonial architecture and the San Blas Indians. Most were taken by C.L. Chester. 81 leaves/oversize.

1904-1913? Travel journals and albums of commercial photographs of Edith Bayne Denegre, a native of New Orleans. She describes in some detail her trips to Cuba in 1909 and Panama in 1911, where she visited Col. William Crawford Gorgas and viewed construction of the Canal. Also includes her short history of Mexico written about 1913. 11 pieces; 190 photographs.

The Benjamin Morgan Harrod papers consists primarily of materials about the construction of the Panama Canal, as well as flood control and navigation. Included is correspondence, a minutebook of the Isthian Canal Commission, a speech by Harrod, photographs, reports, and a bound volume.
