Rare Books Collection Policy

Condition

Materials that are badly worn, much repaired or rebound, or with significant page deterioration are not generally not considered for acquisition, except in special cases in which the subject matter or content of an item--in terms of relevance to the collection--overwhelmingly outweighs its condition issues.  The potential costs of immediate and/or eventual conservation are a selection consideration.
