The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene is the official scientific journal of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. It is the leading peer-reviewed international journal in tropical medicine, evidenced by the global scope of organizations which purchase it: major granting institutions active in the public health field, and medical and scientific libraries throughout the United States, the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the middle and far East, and many other foreign countries. It is available to developing countries through the HINARI.
Its scope ranges from laboratory science to the application of technology in the fields of tropical medicine, parasitology, immunology, infectious diseases, epidemiology, basic and molecular biology, virology and international medicine. Topics in the monthly publication range from applied epidemiology in relevant areas from AIDS to the molecular biology of vaccine development. In it, you will find original research reports, systematic reviews, conference abstracts and reviews, topic reviews by leading authorities, case reports, short reports including images, perspectives, and letters to the Editor.
Annually, it consists of two complete, sequentially numbered volumes with three or more supplements on topics of special interest, including a Directory of International Opportunities, The Membership Directory of the Society, and The Program and Abstracts of the Society's annual meeting. Society members have access to the online version of the journal and can request a print copy as part of their membership.
