Spanish and Portuguese Literature Collection Policy

Program Description

The Spanish and Portuguese language and literature collection at Tulane supports the instructional and research needs of undergraduate and graduate students, and the faculty of Spanish and Portuguese.  Collecting in the literature of Peninsular Spain and Portugal, as well as Lusophone Africa, is distinct from that of Latin America, which is included in the Latin American Library (insert link to their policy).  The Department offers the B.A., M.A. degrees in Spanish or Portuguese, and a joint M.A. in Spanish and Portuguese.  Additional research and teaching areas include linguistics and literary theory. Allied programs offering courses taught in part by the Spanish and Portuguese faculty--Studies in Africa and African Diaspora, Latin American Studies, Cultural Studies, Film Studies, Linguistics, Medieval Studies, and Women's Studies--demonstrate the wide range of interests shared by the Spanish and Portuguese faculty in their aggressive pursuit of research, teaching, pedagogical training, and professional development responsibilities.
