I was raised in North Carolina and have resided in New Orleans since 2007. Life has found me, at one time or another, teaching Spanish and learning Portuguese, collecting Latin American library materials, working with art and architecture, and reconsidering academic work via a digital lens.
I approach instruction as a reflective practice rooted in critical information literacy, support open access, and aspire to actively critique the systems of oppression present in academic work and society. I aspire to maintain a beginner’s mind and be open to the perspective of others.
