Howard-Tilton Memorial Library collects materials in support of teaching and research in the Department of Physics & Engineering Physics. The department offers programs of study leading to the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D in Physics, a five-year B.S./M.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Engineering Physics. The Department also offers physics and astronomy survey courses for non-majors. Departmental research emphasizes quantum chaos, solid state physics, atomic physics & quantum control, acoustic scattering, solid state/density functional theory, nuclear physics, history of physics, mathematical physics, physics instruction, relativity & cosmology, surface science, low temperature condensed matter physics, and polymer physics & biophysics.
