Community Resources

Arts Council New Orleans
The Arts Council works in partnership with the City of New Orleans, community groups, local, state, and national governmental agencies, and other nonprofit arts organizations to meet the arts and cultural needs of the New Orleans community through a diversity of initiatives and services.
The Ella Project
The Ella Project was launched to offer dedicated pro bono legal assistance to low to moderate income artists, musicians, and grass roots non profits of Louisiana. As ELLA grew, services in arts business assistance and development and cultural advocacy were added to its portfolio.
Greater New Orleans Foundation
For over 30 years, the Greater New Orleans Foundation has been connecting donors to community needs. We help create a resilient, sustainable, vibrant community in which individuals and families flourish and the special character of our region is preserved, celebrated, and supported.
The National Performance Network
We seek to provide risk-taking performing and visual artists with the resources needed to develop and tour new work, to ensure arts leaders have the skills and opportunities to be change-makers in the arts presenting field, and to influence cultural policy for more just and artist-centered practices.
Visual Artists Network
Visual Artists Network (VAN), a national network of visual artists, curators, and exhibitors providing opportunities and subsidy support for under-recognized visual artists, nurtures the creation of experimental artwork and supports the touring of contemporary visual artists and their work.

Assets for Artists
Assets for Artists, a project of MASS MoCA, helps artists in all disciplines strengthen their financial and business capacity to sustain a lifetime of creative excellence. They've collected lists of the professional development resources that are most recommended for artists.
Cargo
Cargo’s main goal has been to create accessible tools and a networked context to enhance the exposure of talented individuals on the Internet for free.
Dance Films Association
A nonprofit service organization that serves as a go-between for users and makers of dance films. DFA is a member organization, connecting artists, distributors, curators, viewers, students, and public and university libraries.
Fractured Atlas
Fractured Atlas is a non-profit organization that serves a national community of artists and arts organizations with fiscal sponsorship, insurance products, and much more

This website will give you basic information to help you deal with your freelance taxes and freelance finances.
Indiegogo
IndieGoGo offers anyone with an idea – creative, cause-related, or entrepreneurial – the tools to effectively build a campaign and raise money. Started in 2008 with a focus on film, but now serves any artists/creatives/entrepreneurs, and doesn’t have an all-or-nothing policy.
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)
The National Endowment for the Arts seeks to fund innovative theater and musical theater in the American spirit that is profound, creative, and engaging and that demonstrates exceptional aesthetic values.
