RefWorks

What is RefWorks?
RefWorks is an online tool that helps you conduct research and compose research papers. RefWorks functions with Microsoft Word and other word processors to create footnotes, citations and a bibliography for your paper, formatted into the correct style (MLA, APA, Chicago Style, etc.). In addition, RefWorks allows you to save and organize your citations as you do research. Each reference can be extensively annotated to make the writing process easier. RefWorks works with our existing library database subscriptions to make a seamless transition between researching and writing.

The functionality of RefWorks is similar to that of the EndNote software. Unlike EndNote Web, RefWorks is available to you after you graduate with an alumni account.

How do I access RefWorks?

On campus: Go to: http://www.refworks.proquest.com from any computer on campus. Click on "Create Account," and register using a valid Tulane e-mail address or  Tulane alumni e-mail address. You may also login from library pages on library.tulane.edu by clicking LOGIN, then REFWORKS.

Off campus:   Log into Off Campus access, then create an account from  http://www.refworks.proquest.com.  Once you've created an account, log in with your email address and password. You may also login from library pages on library.tulane.edu by clicking LOGIN, then REFWORKS.

RefWorks Login

Click on the RefWorks logo to login in.  If you use RefWorks from off-campus, bookmark this link, as it will automatically direct you to the off-campus login screen before re-directing you to RefWorks.  This will make it easier for you to link from RefWorks to the full-text of articles.

You may also login from the most pages on the Turchin and Howard-Tilton Memorial Library websites. In the upper right-hand corner, click on Login and then select Refworks.
