Howard-Tilton Memorial Library collects materials in support of teaching and research in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences. The department offers the degrees of B.S. in Geology, B.S. in Environmental Science, and the M.S. and Ph.D. in Earth & Environmental Science. The Department also offers the non-thesis M.S. in Earth & Environmental Sciences and a joint-degree program with Ecology & Evolutionary Biology leading to an M.S. in Environmental Sciences. Research emphasizes sedimentology, stratigraphy, marine geology, paleoclimatology, neotectonics, isotope geochemistry, and environmental geochemistry, as well as structural geology, paleontology, petrology, and volcanology.
