August 29, 2009. Recommendations for Sophomores and Juniors to enhance skills in X-ray reading and clinical procedures. To that end, the following sites may be helpful:
- The New England Journal of Medicine site offers photo quizzes Good for Step 1and 2, as well as instructional videos on nearly every common clinical procedure (catheter insertion, suturing, phlebotomy, taking a blood pressure, thoaracentesis, lumbar puncture, etc.). They are short (10-15 minutes) but thorough. When you access the homepage, scroll down the right sidebar and click on "videos in clinical medicine"

- LearningRadiology.com Check out the right-hand sidebar on the homepage for "Reading CXRs" and "22 Must-See Diagnoses". Excellent images and graphics! Superbly systematic!!
- Cleveland Clinic. Continuing Medical Education Click on the "publications" icon located along the top bar and then go to "Disease Management Project". This gives an excellent overview of common diseases seen in each specialty/organ sytem. Most have excellent graphics.
