Children's Literature: A Guide

Children's and young adult books at Howard-Tilton Memorial Library

Finding Children's books in Tulane Libraries

Children's books are included in Howard-Tilton's book collection* and in other libraries on campus

Some books are in the Amoss Collection on the 2nd floor of Howard-Tilton Library. The Amoss Collection is a small collection of picture books, chapter books, and young adult fiction which are donated by the author Berthe Amoss. Other books are in the Howard-Tilton Stacks, in the PZs, on the 2nd floor. Children's books have call numbers associated with the subject of the book.

If you know the title of the book you're looking for, use Library Search to see if we have it. Another way to find children's books is to search by keyword. Try the links below.

*A book's call number will depend on the subject. A book written for children about the primatologist Jane Goodall has a QL call number and is located with the other books about zoology on the 1st floor. Some books are in the PZ call number section which is juvenile fiction and belles lettres. Others are in the PS section which is American Literature.
