Analyze Digital Text

A guide to introduce and support researchers interested in distant reading approaches to digital texts.

What is HathiTrust?

HathiTrust is a partnership of academic & research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world, including Tulane's Howard-Tilton Memorial Library.

The HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) facilitates non-profit and educational uses of the HathiTrust Digital Library by enabling computational analysis of public domain works and (on limited terms)  in-copyright works from its collection.

Assistance is Available

Several Tulane librarians participated in a day-long train-the-trainer workshop in June 2018 called “Digging Deeper, Reaching Further” (DDRF). Local workshops are in development to support Tulane affiliates interested in utilizing the text mining and the data services of the HathiTrust Research Center. Stay tuned for workshop dates or contact us directly for assistance.
