Much of the environmental scholarship, policy work, and raw data used and procuded by U.S. government agencies is available on the Internet through the various federal and state agencies' websites.

Also consider the laws and legislative histories behind environmental research and regulation. The CRS Reports (Congressional Research Service) are especially helpful for the histories and effects of particular legislation.
