Latin American Studies Collection Policy

Cooperative Resources

The Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is a member of the cooperative Center for Research Libraries (CRL) in Chicago, which makes available Latin American resources such as newspapers, microfilm sets, and dissertations to Tulane users for extended periods.  In addition, the Latin American Library participates in several regional and international consortia and distributed resources projects.  The Latin America Southeast Resources (LASER), a consortium of major Latin American research collections in the region, provides union lists of newspapers and microforms; borrowing policies at each institution are also listed.  The Latin American Library is also a member of LAMP and the Latin American Research Resources Project (LAARP), which are under the auspices of CRL.  Within LAARP, the LAL is responsible for in depth collecting of Central American materials, including Belize.
