Scope

Collection emphasis is on the non-clinical aspects of Psychology: learning and memory, cognition and cognitive development, early child development, adolescent behavior, neuroscience, animal behavior, industrial/organizational psychology, cross-cultural psychology, social psychology. Introductory and advanced texts in modern statistical and analytical methods, and mathematical modeling in psychology, are commonly acquired. Educational psychology is acquired from a learning and developmental perspective - materials about classroom management, K-12 curriculum development, and the education of special types of students are not typically sought. Clinical materials are acquired selectively, usually at the request of faculty members. Neuroscience materials are also purchased using funds allocated for Cell & Molecular Biology.
