Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do with items I currently have checked out?

Keep any items you currently have checked out until the library reopens. Late fees will be waived. If you have any questions, email turchin@tulane.edu.

Is there someone who can help me with my research questions?

Yes! The librarians and staff at Turchin Business Library are still available to help you. Email Turchin@tulane.edu with any questions or concerns, use the library chat feature at the bottom of the library’s website, Turchin.tulane.edu, or call the library at (504) 865-5376.

When will Turchin Library reopen?

The library’s Research Center is closed until further notice. Check Turchin.tulane.edu for additional updates.

Can I access a Bloomberg terminal?

Since Bloomberg access is restricted to campus, professors have removed Bloomberg requirements from the coursework for the remainder of the semester.

Currently, the Financial Analysis Lab is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is subject to change should Goldring/Woldenberg Business Complex change building access.

Are databases still accessible?

Yes! Turchin Library's databases can still be accessed. If off-campus, many databases require that you log in using your Tulane credentials. You can also browse the library catalogjournals, and research guides for more information.

As always, should you have any questions or issues accessing any database, contact Turchin Library via the Chat feature, by email at Turchin@tulane.edu, or by phone (504) 865-5376

I'm looking for a specific journal. How do I find it?

From the Turchin Library homepage, enter the title of the journal in the search box in the middle of the page. Select 'journals' in drop-down menu to the left.

From the results list, select the journal that indicates 'online access.' The catalog record will indicate which databases hold the title, including which years, volumes, and issues are available.

This search also works within the Journal page under Popular Resources, or by selecting Catalog and then choosing Journal Title from the drop down menu.

For additional information, visit the library's A-Z List of journal titles. Users can also use the Browzine database to browse scholarly journals by subject or title.

I'm curious about the business and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
