To locate United States government documents within the collections of Howard-Tilton, enter the best keywords to describe your subject matter and use the drop-down menu to preselect Books. You may limit your results to include only Government Documents in the left-hand column of the results page.

Google for Government

A great deal of government information is available on the Internet, directly from the websites of federal and state agencies and departments.  If you know the agency involved in your research area, you can search its website directly.  If you're not sure, try this Google trick:

In a Google search, enter "site:gov" + keyword(s).  This will search for your keyword(s) only on websites that have the domain .gov.

This also works for searching within a particular website. For example, search for "statistics" within the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website.
