Parents' Guide to Library Services and Spaces

This guide is for parents who want to learn more about how the libraries support Tulane students.

Student Jobs

The library is one of the largest employers of student workers on campus. We employee students all throughout the year including the summer. Most of our student employees have federal work-study funding; however, we are able to hire students without work-study.

Jobs at the library include shelving books, processing and cataloging books, processing special collections, working at the research help desk, working at the check-out desk, working at the media services desk, working in the administration office, working with web services, and more.

Tulane University Information Technology also hires many student workers to staff the technology help desk in the Learning Commons on the first floor of the library.

The library posts available positions on Handshake.com. Students interested in employment at the library should complete an online application there in order to be considered for a position.

The number of available student worker positions varies by semester. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted directly by a library supervisor.

Human Resources Student Employment has additional information about student employment on campus. You can find that information here: https://hr.tulane.edu/student-employment/home.
